Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga Driver – The impulse of Lenovo to create thin and portable ThinkPads has been giving its fruits, with the X 1 Carbon and the X 1 Yoga as two of the best laptops we reviewed this year. I have here now the X 380 Yoga, a laptop 13 inch certainly seems a classic ThinkPad but which has a convertible feature and a very thin construction.
It is the successor of the ThinkPad Yoga 370, and is thin and light at the same time maintaining the ports and basic functionality. Let’s carefully our review to see if the ThinkPad X 380 Yoga is worth or not your time and money.
The 380 X Yoga has a soft chassis standard touch ThinkPad that complies with the 12 MIL-SPEC standards to demonstrate its durability, and certainly feels like a well-built laptop. There is almost no Flex in the body, no creaks when you lift it, and convertible hinges, which allow you to fold the tent, support and Tablet modes display, are tough enough to prevent the lid from moving if you need to work on a vehicle in movement. If you feel blasphemous, a silver color option is available for $30 extra.
Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga Driver – Keep with the traditional black finish opens the possibility of an IR camera for Windows Hello, so it has to pay additional $25 and is not available in silver color choice. Both models come with a reader of fingerprints in the right hand rest, it sufficiently far from the form that your hand does not strike against it as you type. In the tests, it worked perfectly and made me start session apparently as soon as I touched it. As for the audio, it is a functional speaker that does the job; Do not expect anything special.
The ports are divided on both sides and there is enough space between them so that they bind when multiple peripherals are used at the same time. On the left side, gets the proprietary charging port of Lenovo, Thunderbolt 3 with 4 lines of PCIe (which can also be used to load if it is not your standard charger), USB-A and a mini RJ45 port you need a dongle to adapt to standard cables Etherne t. on the right side is the ThinkPad Pen Pro: is the thin, rechargeable style that has its own slot: an HDMI port, another USB-A, a microSD card reader, a 3.5 mm audio connector and a Kensington lock slot.
Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga Driver – The 380 X Yoga weighs the same as the X 1 Yoga at 3.08 lb (1.4 kg), but it has a smaller screen and less settings. However, it is just as portable, perhaps even more because of the smaller framework, and seems to be attached with the same attention to quality than the portable computers of high-end series X. If you are looking for a laptop that has the same type of design but not cost so much or do not occupy both space and brother, it is likely that X 380 focused.
The glass on the touch screen of 13.3-inch X 380 Yoga extends from edge to edge, which means that there is no annoying shelf against which should hit when trying to hit something in the corners. The bezel around the screen is a little twisted, with a thin strip along the edges, thicker a strip at the top (no doubt to save space for models who choose the IR camera), and again a Chin larger at the bottom. It is not anything egregious, but in a 13.3-inch screen, it is certainly notable. When in tablet mode, you can it to appreciate the size, since it is a bit easier to grasp on the laptop without accidentally hitting the screen.
The ThinkPad Pen Pro integrated in the laptop is slim pencil style, and has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity for a writing and drawing experience OK. You can quickly write down notes in a meeting or scribbling while talking on the phone, but you do not wait to paint a digital masterpiece.
Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga Driver – Many ThinkPads suffer when it comes to brightness and precision of color, but when testing I got 97% of sRGB and AdobeRGB 75%, both excellent results. The contrast also seems to be correct, although I’d love that screen was brighter than that which currently reaches a maximum of 289 nits. There is only a choice of FHD, so those looking at least 1440 p will want to look elsewhere.
The 380 X keyboard Yoga makes it good in the use of a large amount of space in the chassis, allowing an experience of writing which does not feel crowded. The keys are well spaced, there is a lot of travel and a soft landing to the bottom, and you get the standard range of functions in row F. It’s what you expect of a ThinkPad and I had no problems using it to write all day.
