Lenovo ThinkPad E585 Drivers – Lenovo has quietly posted the specifications of its ThinkPad E485 and ThinkPad E585 notebooks based on AMD’s Ryzen Mobile processors on its website. With its classic black chassis and ergonomic keyboards, the new laptops are the first Ryzen Mobile engine PC destined for the SME market segment. The new ThinkPads are equipped with a DTPM 2.0 chip and are offered with various Lenovo services that are not available with consumer computers.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad E485 and ThinkPad E585 notebook computers will be offered in several configurations that focus on a wide range of pricing. The different configurations will be based on the Ryzen 7 2700U of AMD with the Radeon Vega 10, the Ryzen 5 2500U with the Radeon Vega 8 or the Ryzen 3 2200U with the APU of Radeon Vega 3. Laptop computers can be equipped with up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory using two so-DIMM modules that are likely to run at 2400 MT/s. As for storage, systems can present a 512 GB M. 2 PCIe/NVMe SSD, a 500 GB HDD, a 1TB HDD, or a combination of an SSD and a hard drive.

With its larger screen, I would expect the E585 to consume more energy than the E485 and therefore offer a shorter battery life, but it is interesting that Lenovo qualifies at 9 hours. The good news is that the E585 can accommodate a larger battery pack and thus offer a longer battery life.

With a Z-height of 21.9 mm, the 14-inch ThinkPad E485 appears to be a bit thicker than the 15.6-inch ThinkPad E585 that has a Z-height of 19.95 mm. As for the weight, the smallest E485 weighs 1.75 kg and is notably lighter than the E585 weighing 2.1 kg. None of the ThinkPad-based Ryzen Mobile can be called thin and light, however, keep in mind that these systems have metal skeletons and come in a chassis made of thick plastics, so they are quite resilient (although ThinkPad X1 does not They are so resilient).
If you want to get a slim and lightweight laptop with AMD Ryzen Mobile, you should probably take a look at the Ideapad 720S that comes in an aluminum chassis 13.6 mm thick and weighs about 1.14 kilograms (as this is a model for the consumer vie NE with Windows 10 Home and without DTPM 2.0 though).
The new Lenovo ThinkPad E485 and ThinkPad E585 notebooks are expected to be available in the coming weeks. When it comes to prices, it is set to vary a lot. There will be very affordable laptops with the APU Ryzen 3 2200U AMD and hard drives along with ‘ HD ‘ screens that will probably have a cost of ~ $600 or less, while the premium machines are based on the Ryzen 7 2700U of AMD and are accompanied by UHD panels and Double-the storage subsystems of the unit cost considerably higher.
